Jonah Swallowed by a Great Fish
The LORD prepares a great fish to swallow Jonah, and Jonah remains in its belly for three days and three nights.
Jonah Cast into the Sea
Jonah instructs the mariners to throw him into the sea to calm the tempest. After a futile attempt to row to shore and a prayer to the LORD, the mariners cast Jonah overboard, and the sea immediately calms.
Jonah Flees to Tarshish
Jonah disobeys God's command and attempts to flee from the LORD's presence by boarding a ship bound for Tarshish from Joppa.
The Storm at Sea
